This Week: February 22nd-26th

We will continue reading "Cuckoo's Nest" in class and at home. Please follow the schedule below:


Monday - Read and review up through page 70. You will have a quiz on all chapters up through and including "Before noon..." tomorrow. The quiz will be short answer. Please have all the study guide questions completed up through and including this chapter as well. They count as a homework grade.
Tuesday - Quiz. Up to page 70. Begin reading "One Christmas at midnight..." and finish for home work. Do the three questions in the study guides.

Wednesday - Read "First time in a long, long time..." and do the three questions in the study guide.
Thursday - Read "Come morning, McMurphy is up..." and complete the four questions in the study guide.
Friday - Review of all study guide questions this week. Film clip.

This Week - February8-12:

Monday - We will begin reading the novel.

Homework: Vocabulary handout, due tomorrow. Finish reading chapter two "The fog clears..."

Tuesday - We will read "The new man..." in class and answer the questions in the study guide.

Wednesday - Thursday - No School; snow days.
Friday - We will read "In the glass station..." and do the questions in the study guide. We will review all the questions in the study guide.

This Week - February 1-5: Welcome to Contemporary Literature!

This is you senior elective course for the second half of the year and it is going to be a great one!
The course is a comprehensive study of contemporary writers, literature and film from 1950 to the present. Throught the mediums of writing a film, we will explore a variety of contemporary issues and relate them to the human experience. Please see the course syllabus for requirements and works to be studied. Check the blog if you are absent and need the assignment.
This week's schedule is below:
Monday-Tuesday: Course syllabus and overview. We will also be reading a contemporary story by Margaret Atwood titled "Happy Endings" as well as answering some discussion questions. This is your first home work assignment.
Wednesday-Friday: We will begin discussing some background information on our first novel, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey.
